Trust & Compliance

Transparency about how we operate. No hidden methods, no undisclosed incentives.

How We Score

Every product and vendor on Kratom Test receives a Transparency Score from 0 to 100. This score is computed algorithmically from structured laboratory data — not editorial opinion.

35%

Lab Testing & Accreditation

Frequency of third-party testing, lab ISO 17025 certification status, and accreditation level. Products tested by DEA-licensed or ISO-certified labs score higher.

25%

Batch-to-Batch Consistency

Statistical variance in alkaloid percentages across consecutive batches. Lower variance indicates more reliable sourcing and manufacturing.

20%

Voluntary Disclosure

Completeness of COA data shared: alkaloid profiles, heavy metals, microbials, pesticides. Full-panel COAs score higher than alkaloid-only reports.

20%

Safety Compliance

Pass/fail record for heavy metals, microbial counts, and pesticide residues against established safety thresholds.

Scores update automatically when new batch data is ingested. Grade thresholds: A (80–100), B (60–79), C (40–59), D/F (<40). Historical scores are preserved for trend analysis.

How We Make Money

Kratom Test is funded through affiliate commissions from vendor product links. When you purchase a product through one of our clearly labeled affiliate links, we may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.

Revenue principles

  • Affiliate relationships are never factored into transparency scores or analysis.
  • Vendors cannot pay for higher scores, preferential placement, or suppressed risk flags.
  • Affiliate links are only displayed after the structured data analysis has been shown.
  • Every affiliate link is explicitly labeled as such.
  • We track and disclose which vendors have affiliate partnerships.

If a vendor with an affiliate relationship receives a low score or risk flags, those indicators are displayed without modification.

Lab Methodology

All data on this platform originates from Certificates of Analysis (COAs) issued by third-party laboratories. We do not perform independent testing.

Alkaloid Analysis

Labs typically use HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) to quantify mitragynine, 7-hydroxymitragynine, speciogynine, paynantheine, and other alkaloids. Results are reported as weight percentages.

Heavy Metal Testing

ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry) is the standard method for detecting lead, arsenic, mercury, and cadmium. Results compared against USP <232> thresholds.

Microbial Testing

Plating and PCR-based methods test for E. coli, Salmonella, total aerobic count, and yeast/mold. Thresholds follow USP <2021> guidelines.

Lab Credibility Assessment

We evaluate labs on ISO 17025 certification, DEA licensing, state accreditation, and statistical consistency of their reported results across multiple vendors.

Cross-lab comparisons should be interpreted cautiously. Methodological differences between laboratories can produce varying results for the same sample.

Affiliate Disclosure

Kratom Test participates in affiliate programs with select kratom vendors. This means we may earn a commission when you click on an affiliate link and make a purchase. Affiliate links are always clearly labeled with "(affiliate link)" text.

What this means for you: The price you pay is the same whether or not you use our affiliate link. We only partner with vendors who provide verifiable COA data. An affiliate partnership does not guarantee a favorable score.

Disclosure placement: Affiliate links appear only after analysis content (score breakdowns, lab results, risk indicators) has been presented. They are never placed before or alongside scoring data.

If you have concerns about our affiliate practices, contact us at transparency@kratomtest.org.
